Triple explosive demolition at West Burton Power Station

Footage sent to us by Brown & Mason of the triple explosive demolition that took place at 10am 2 October 2025 at West Burton Power Station, Nottinghamshire.

Two Absorbers (Units 3 & 4) and a Coal Boom Stacker were explosively demolished at 11am on Thursday 2^nd October 2025.

This event is another milestone in the country’s transition from fossil fuels towards greener energy sources, with West Burton being home to STEP Fusion, the UK’s programme to build a prototype fusion energy plant and create a UK-led fusion industry.
