The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) are seeking an independent Peer Reviewer (industry expert) for an upcoming Demolition apprenticeship.

Peer Reviewers support IfATE by commenting on upcoming products, including TQs and HTQs, T-Levels and apprenticeships. This work is completed virtually, either by reviewing information that would be sent via email or attending short virtual meetings at a pre-arranged time.

Apprenticeship reviewers provide an experienced professional perspective on the extent to which the apprenticeships or qualifications prepare someone for work in the occupation (would you recruit someone who had completed the apprenticeship), and form part of our approvals process. For this, you do not need to be an employer to review, just to have good experience and an excellent working knowledge of the area of work and the requirements of the job.

The workload is highly flexible, we do ask for availability each month so you can choose not to look at reviews if you are particularly busy or on leave. Reviewers who have a contract with IfATE are eligible to receive a fee. Each product has an individual fee attached but is based on a pay rate of around £50 per hour/£400 per day. A typical review usually takes 2-4 hours.

Please note, independent peer reviewers must not have been involved with the development of the materials they review, and must not be members of a Trailblazer group or route panel. To preserve the independence and integrity of the process reviewers are anonymous to all except a few members of IfATE.

Please be aware that the IfATE would send you work when it matched with your expertise and experience, and there may therefore be periods when you did not receive reviews to undertake.
