Explosive demolition - Sembcorp’s former coal-fired power station by Brown & Mason

On Friday 9th May, Brown & Mason successfully completed the explosive demolition of the boiler house of Sembcorp’s former coal-fired power station at the Wilton International industrial development site.

The charges were initiated at 3pm by Hayley Little, Process Safety Engineer at Sembcorp, causing a controlled collapse of the structure while leaving the adjacent coal bunkers and turbine hall standing independently.

Working alongside RVA Group and Sembcorp, this is the latest successful blowdown event for the industry-leading explosive demolition team at Brown & Mason.
