Today, 28th April, is World Day for Safety & Health at Work. An annual, international awareness day to promote ‘safe, healthy and decent work’.
By its nature, demolition is an inherently dangerous environment. This day is our opportunity to reinforce and build our credentials as an industry and emphasise the importance we place on making demolition a safe place to work.
Safety starts with leaders and managers. It is up to us to make the difference by creating an environment that encourages the positive safety behaviours required to keep our places of work ‘SITE SAFE’.
On this Safety Awareness Day, why not take some time to refresh. Spare a few minutes of your day to read the NFDC’s article and take the 7 Step ‘Safety Leadership Challenge’ to see what more you could be doing to promote and reinforce your company’s safety procedures and behaviours.
