NDA has been closely following the developing news regarding COVID-19. Although promising news is coming from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) regarding the future of the pandemic, there is still uncertainty around in-person events for 2021. Earlier this month, the Louisiana governor John Bel Edwards extended his modified Phase 2 order, keeping COVID-19 mitigation measures in place for another 28 days, and strongly recommending against large gatherings. Due to this uncertainty, and to protect your health and the communities you serve, the NDA Board of Directors has voted unanimously to cancel Demolition New Orleans.
We know the timing of our announcement comes as a disappointment so early in 2021. While we regret canceling the event, we are confident this decision is in the best interest of all attendees, exhibitors, and volunteers.
The vaccine roll-out and improvements in rapid testing programs gives us great confidence for the prospects of our industry and we are confident that we will be able to deliver a successful Demolition Convention and Expo in San Diego, California, February 26 – March 1, 2022.
As a partner of NDA, we value your participation in the Annual Convention and Expo and appreciate your support of the association. We prioritized making the cancelation decision to lessen the impact on your shipping and materials planning. NDA will transfer all monies paid towards booths, sponsorship packages, and Live DEMO participation to 2022 Demolition San Diego. Refunds will not be issued for 2021 Demolition New Orleans.

We encourage anyone who has booked flight reservations for Demolition New Orleans to contact the airline immediately to inform them of your changed travel plans. NDA has canceled all rooms booked within the NDA block at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. If you do not receive a cancelation notice, please contact the hotel directly. NDA will be issuing full refunds for your badge registration fees back to your credit card on file. Please allow us 14 business days to process these refunds.
Although we will not be gathering in-person, NDA is exploring opportunities to celebrate those who have reached great milestones in their careers and innovative project work within the last year. We will share details about upcoming education and the presentation of the 2021 awards as they become available.
We would like to thank the Convention Committee, and in particular, Scott Laird and Scot Stein for their amazing work in planning this year’s event. Your leadership during this trying time has been appreciated by the NDA staff team and fellow volunteers.
